Turgutreis:

Turgutreis is one of the biggest of the bays on the Bodrum peninsular. There is a marina and five kilometres of sandy beaches. You will also find many bars, restaurants, an open-air market, a bazaar and supermarkets. Turgutreis is a more relaxing resort for those that do not wish for the hustle and bustle of  Bodrum. There are 14 Turkish islands around Turgutreis including Küçük Kiremit, Büyük, Fener, Çatal, Yassý, Tüllüce, Kargý, Köçek, Kadikalesi, and Sarýat, as well as the Greek islands Kos and Kalimnos. Turgutreis is twenty kilometers from Bodrum which can be easily reahed by dolmus [mini-bus} for a day out. Many other of the Bodrum resorts can also be visited from Turgutreis.

Akyarlar:

Akyarlar, close to Turgutreis is only 22 kilometers from Bodrum. The Greek Island of Kos is very close by. Windsurfing is a very popular watersport in Akyarlar. Akyarlar has a very friendly and relaxed holiday atmosphere. The bay of Akyarlar has a small harbour at one end and a curving beach running from it. There are restaurants lining the shoreline serving excellent locally caught fish dishes. Akyarlar and Turgutreis are a good daytrip from the peninsular’s major resort of Bodrum.
